Community Empowerment

Community Empowerment:
This component is designed to empower local communities to take charge of their development according to their felt needs through strengthening the capacity of Community Based Organizations (CBOs). The activities of this component include; Formation of Focal Development Area(FDA) Committees, Formation of River Users and Water Users Associations(RUA's and WUA's), Support and Implementation of innovative community initiatives and organizing tailor made training/short courses for key stakeholders.
The component has 2 (two) sub components namely:

• Community Development which involves sensitizing and creating interest inorder for communies to organize themselves to become partners in the project implementation process;and
• Strengthening District Technical Capacity where district implementers capacity is built through tailor made training courses.
